Keystone Centre Announces Temporary Closure of Brandon Curling Club Due to Brine Leak

February 23, 2026

The Keystone Centre has temporarily closed the Brandon Curling Club after a brine leak was discovered.

Operations staff observed a loss in brine, prompting the Keystone Centre to bring in an outside consultant to determine the location of the failure. With the recommendation from the outside consultant, the Keystone Centre determined it was in the facility’s best interest to remove the ice in the Brandon Curling Club to properly diagnose and repair the situation, rather than risk further damage to the facility’s infrastructure, and the safety of the users and staff.

The issue only effects the ice surface in the Brandon Curling Club. The Enns Brothers Arena and Flynn Arena ice surfaces are controlled separately, and will remain in operation.

“We are grateful for the swift cooperation shown by our regional curling community,” said Keystone Centre CEO & General Manager Connie Lawrence. “Although this situation is unfortunate, safety must come first, and we are privileged to have partners that agree with that, especially given the significant event relocation that this has resulted in. We appreciate the collaboration and understanding shown by the Brandon Curling Club, Riverview Curling Club, and Carberry Curling Club, and all partners involved.”

The Keystone Centre will work with the Brandon Curling Club as it evaluates impacts on league members, rentals, and seasonal operations. Repair planning is underway, and further updates will be provided.
