Marketing Manager

Reports To

CEO & General Manager

Summary

​The Marketing Manager is responsible for developing and executing innovative marketing strategies that promote the Keystone Centre as Western Manitoba’s premier destination for sports, entertainment, agricultural, trade, convention, and community events. This position leads all aspects of marketing, communications, branding, advertising, digital media, ticket marketing, public relations, and event promotion while supporting revenue growth through increased attendance, sponsorship visibility, and facility bookings.

The Marketing Manager works collaboratively with the Sales Team, Event Services, Sponsorship Manager, Box Office, tenants, promoters, community partners, and external agencies to ensure every event receives effective marketing support and maximum exposure.
 

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Marketing
  • Develop and implement annual marketing and communications plans aligned with the Keystone Centre’s Strategic Plan.
  • Create promotional campaigns that increase attendance, bookings, ticket sales, and public awareness.
  • Develop marketing budgets and monitor expenditures.
  • Evaluate campaign effectiveness using measurable performance indicators.
Event Marketing
  • Create customized marketing plans for concerts, sporting events, agricultural events, trade shows, meetings, conventions, banquets, and community events.
  • Coordinate advertising schedules and media buying.
  • Manage promotional timelines from announcement through event completion.
  • Support promoters and event organizers with marketing initiatives.
Digital Marketing
  • Manage the Keystone Centre website and ensure content remains current.
  • Oversee all social media platforms including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, X, and emerging platforms.
  • Create engaging digital content including graphics, videos, photography, and promotional campaigns.
  • Manage email marketing campaigns and newsletters.
  • Monitor analytics and optimize digital performance.
Brand Management
  • Protect and strengthen the Keystone Centre brand.
  • Ensure consistent messaging and visual identity across all marketing materials.
  • Maintain brand standards for internal departments and external partners.
Communications & Public Relations
  • Prepare media releases, public announcements, speeches, newsletters, and promotional materials.
  • Build and maintain relationships with local, provincial, and national media.
  • Coordinate press conferences and media events.
  • Act as a communications resource during major events and emergency situations.
Ticket Sales & Revenue Development
  • Work with promoters and the Box Office to maximize ticket sales.
  • Develop promotional pricing strategies and sales campaigns.
  • Assist with premium seating, suites, and hospitality marketing initiatives.
  • Support sponsorship activation through promotional opportunities.
Community Engagement
  • Build partnerships with tourism organizations, community groups, educational institutions, businesses, and sponsors.
  • Represent the Keystone Centre at networking events, trade shows, and community functions.
  • Identify opportunities to increase community awareness and participation.

Qualifications

  • Degree or diploma in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Business, or a related field.
  • Experience in sports, entertainment, hospitality, tourism, event management, or convention centres is considered an asset.
  • Demonstrated success managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong writing, editing, and communication skills.
  • Experience with digital advertising platforms, social media management, CRM systems, email marketing, website content management, and analytics.
  • Graphic design, photography, and video production experience is considered an asset.
  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s Licence.

Working Conditions

This position is primarily office-based but requires regular attendance at events throughout the Keystone Centre. Evening, weekend, and holiday work is required based on event schedules. The Marketing Manager may occasionally travel for conferences, trade shows, and promotional opportunities.

Shift Engineer

Reports To

Director of Operations

Summary

The Keystone Centre prides itself on providing the very highest quality facilities with impeccable attention to detail and cleanliness while providing friendly, efficient, and accommodating service to its tenants, guests and clients.

Job Duties

  • Primarily responsible for the operation of refrigeration plants, boilers, HVAC and life safety systems,
  • Maintaining an accurate and regular log system of all plants as well as being able to perform maintenance on such plants and equipment,
  • Shift Work – 8 to 12 hour rotations including evenings, nights and weekends,
  • Ability to work independently,
  • General building maintenance.

Requirements

  • Must possess (4th) class Engineer Certification and/or Refrigeration Certificate, or Ice Facility Operator Certificate (IFO),
  • Able to read and interpret various schematics and drawings,
  • Attention to detail and troubleshooting skills required,
  • Proven self-starter with the demonstrated ability to work well independently with little supervision and as part of a team,
  • Interacts with all levels of the organization and public, must possess demonstrated interpersonal skills,
  • Ability to work 12-hour shifts and/or nights and weekends,

Box Office Attendant (Part-Time)

Summary

The Box Office Attendant will be responsible for ticket sales, and providing excellent customer service for events, by performing the following duties:

Job Duties

• Opens and/or closes ticket window, as required
• Accurately process ticket orders, payments, and make change
• Sell tickets for regular events, playoffs and other promotions
• Complete daily sales reports. Accurately reconcile balance sheet of cash, debit/credit sales
• Fills orders for ticket by telephone, handles will-call ticket pick-ups and other related duties as assigned
• Demonstrate excellent customer service skills; responding professionally, promptly, and efficiently to customer service requests and needs
• Able to work independently and handle most box office questions and related tasks with minimal assistance
• Efficiently and courteously answer questions concerning prices, seating, events and related Box Office questions
• Assists co-workers as required
• Be knowledgeable of all upcoming shows
• Ensure the Keystone Centre Box Office is kept tidy, and presentable
• Be knowledgeable of the Ticketmaster selling platform, on-line selling platform, and mobile ticketing platform in order to assist customers with all inquiries
• Handling confidential information with discretion and professionalism
• Representing the Keystone Centre in a professional, welcoming, and inclusive manner
• Basic reception duties including welcoming visitors to the facility and directing inquiries to event staff as required

Warehouse Runner (Part-Time)

Reports To

Warehouse Manager & Sodexo Live General Manager

Summary

As Warehouse Runner, you will support the facility’s logistics operations by moving stock, supplies, materials, and equipment in a timely and accurate manner. You will assist with loading and unloading, storage, and distribution to event spaces and support areas. This role is key to ensuring events, concessions, trade shows, exhibitions, and other activities at Keystone run smoothly.

Job Duties

  • Receive shipments (supplies, equipment, materials) and unload deliveries, checking them for accuracy and condition.

  • Move and distribute items to appropriate storage locations, event areas, concession stands, or loading docks.

  • Assist with setting up and restocking event-related materials, including shelving, pallets, boxes, food and beverages.

  • Support event load-in/load-out operations, including moving crates and equipment.

  • Maintain storage areas by organizing, labeling, and rotating stock (first in/first out where relevant) while ensuring cleanliness and order.

  • Collect and transport waste, recyclables, empty crates, or packaging from event spaces back to designated areas.

  • Operate warehouse equipment (e.g., pallet jack, hand trucks) safely and efficiently. Training will be provided or required.

  • Assist with inventory counts and documentation (e.g., logs of incoming/outgoing items), and work with the warehouse/operations team to resolve discrepancies.

  • Adhere to health and safety, WHMIS, facility, and event safety policies while ensuring safe handling of materials.

  • Be available for shifts as events require and maintain reliable attendance, flexibility, and responsiveness during event periods.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred.

  • Prior warehouse, logistics, event-support, or materials-handling experience is an asset (but not always required).

  • Good communication skills (verbal) and the ability to work in a fast-paced, event-driven environment.

  • Ability to follow instructions, be a team player, and adapt to changing priorities during event setups and take-downs.

  • Physical ability to perform manual labour, including standing/walking for long periods, lifting, carrying, pushing/pulling loads (often up to 50 lbs or more, depending on load), and climbing/stooping/kneeling as required.

  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and event days.

  • Familiarity with warehouse equipment and safe lifting techniques; forklift certification is an asset (if applicable).

  • Possession of a valid driver’s licence may be required if internal driving is part of the role (e.g., moving items between onsite storage buildings).

  • Safety footwear (steel-toed boots) and other PPE as required by the facility.

Work Conditions

  • Large facility with multiple event spaces; busy and dynamic environment.
  • Heavy and varied physical tasks, including setting up/breaking down events.
  • May require working during evenings, weekends, and non-standard hours to support event schedules.
  • Indoor and outdoor moving between storage yards/loading docks and event spaces.
  • May encounter large crowds, noise, and fast turn-around during high-profile events.
