May 11, 2026

Brandon, MB – May 11, 2026 – The Keystone Centre and Keystone Centre Foundation are pleased to announce the raising of the Keystone Centre flag at Brandon’s City Hall.

The flag was raised at 10am on May 11th, 2026, and will remain flying above City Hall for the week of May 11th to celebrate the contribution and impact of the Keystone Centre on Brandon, and the surrounding region.

“It was great to raise the Keystone Centre flag at City Hall today,” said Mayor Jeff Fawcett of the City of Brandon. “We’re proud to support such an incredible community hub and the work of the Keystone Centre Foundation. With exciting events ahead, it’s a perfect time to recognize everything the Centre brings to Brandon and the region.”

Opened in 1973, the Keystone Centre has grown in to a cornerstone of the community’s economic, cultural, and recreational life. Today, it hosts more than 2,800 event days each year, and draws visitors to the Wheat City from across the province, the country, and from around the world.

“It’s a true honour to witness our flag being raised and proudly displayed,” said Connie Lawrence, CEO & General Manager of the Keystone Centre. “For more than five decades, the Keystone Centre has been home to youth hockey, figure skating, equestrian events, fairs, concerts, tradeshows, and major national events; serving as a gathering place that brings people together from across Manitoba and beyond.”

The Keystone Centre’s economic impact on the City of Brandon and surrounding region supports more than 1 in 27 jobs, and contributes more than $78 million annually to the provincial economy.

The Keystone Centre announced the creation of the Keystone Centre Foundation in 2025, with the stated goal of supporting the ongoing operation, improvement, and accessibility of the Keystone Centre.

“The Foundation exists to safeguard the future of the Keystone Centre,” Lawrence continued. “Through philanthropy, sponsorship, education, and community engagement, we aim to ensure the Keystone Centre remains vibrant, competitive, and welcoming for generations to come.”
