Keystone Centre Foundation

Mission & Purpose

The Keystone Centre Foundation exists to support the ongoing operation, improvement, and accessibility of the Keystone Centre — a registered charitable non-profit in the heart of Brandon, Manitoba. Every donation made to the Foundation helps preserve this vital community facility for future generations.

Each year, the Keystone Centre hosts more than 2,800 event days. While events such as Brandon Wheat Kings home games, concerts, Manitoba Ag Days, Manitoba Summer Fair, Royal Manitoba Winter Fair, and Canada’s National Arabian Championship have become pillars of western Manitoba’s event schedule, the Keystone Centre is also home to minor hockey, the pre-school wellness fair, and dozens of charitable organizations’ flagship events.

The Keystone Centre has been a conduit for the community to interact for more than 50 years, and the Keystone Centre  Foundation is born of a shared interest in maintaining and improving the facility, and serves as a unique tool to support the Keystone Centre’s mission, and to share your ideas for what the future of this facility looks like.

Why Your Support Matters

The Keystone Centre is more than a building — it’s a community hub. As a charitable organization, we rely on donations to:

  • Maintain and improve our facility
  • Increase accessibility and inclusivity for all guests
  • Support local, cultural, agricultural, and sporting events
  • Undertake new, and essential capital improvements
  • Reduce costs for community user groups and programs

When you contribute, you’re helping ensure that the Keystone Centre remains a welcoming space for everyone in our region — now and into the future.

Your Impact

When you donate, you’re helping support:

  • Event infrastructure and building upgrades
  • Accessibility initiatives (like sensory inclusion and Access 2)
  • Youth sports, agriculture, and cultural programming

In 2023, an Economic Impact study was conducted to determine the Keystone Centre’s contribution to the local and Provincial economies, and start a discussion about the future needs of the facility, and the alignment of those needs with those of Brandon’s business, agricultural, and recreational sectors. This study reviewed the economic impact of only 9 recurring annual events, out of the hundreds held each year at the Keystone Centre.

It was determined that currently, based on this limited number of events, the Keystone Centre adds $61.1 million to local gross economic activity, $36.9 million to local GDP, and adds $14.6 million to government revenues ($6.7 million Federal, $6.3 million Provincial, and $1.8 million Municipal), and creates or maintains more than 1,000 jobs locally (1 in 27 in Brandon).

Did You Know?

The Keystone Centre is a registered charitable non-profit organization — and a cornerstone of economic and community life in Brandon and beyond.

Every dollar that comes into the facility is reinvested directly into the building, the events we host, and the people we serve. We don’t exist to turn a profit, enrich shareholders, or a private ownership group — we exist to enrich our community through connection.

Each year, the Keystone Centre contributes tens of millions of dollars to the regional and provincial economy through visitor spending, job creation, hotel stays, local vendor partnerships, and tourism activity.

When you donate to the Keystone Centre — whether as a business or individual — you’re not just helping maintain a building. You’re supporting:

  • A venue that brings thousands of visitors to Brandon each year
  • A hub for sports, agriculture, entertainment, and education
  • A community space that hosts youth tournaments, local events, Indigenous celebrations, national shows, and more

Your support helps us preserve and improve this facility for future generations, while continuing to drive economic growth and community pride across Westman and Manitoba.
